The River Town Film Festival showcases short and feature-length independent films from emerging filmmakers that enhance our understanding of community. There will be an affiliated art expo, along with three days of community art projects. Only one hour from New York City, bucolic Clinton, NJ is a sophisticated small town that is a meeting point between cosmopolitan East Coast culture, artists, multi-generational farms and salt of the earth people. The festival will take place at the Red Mill, a historical landmark that dates back to 1810 and is now home to a museum village. The festival will span three days; the art expo will open the night of Friday, November 10, and the film festival will open Saturday, November 11 with screenings of short and feature-length films (narrative and documentary) through Sunday, November 12.
Opening day will feature a screening followed by a Q&A by the Academy Award/Golden Globe winning writer of ON GOLDEN POND, Ernest Thompson, quite possibly the Godfather of community filmmaking, followed by an evening party for mingling with the filmmakers. The closing ceremony on Sunday evening will be capped off by a rock and roll performance by legendary rock stars who are former members of Electric Light Orchestra, ELO Part II, and Styx, and have also performed with Billy Joel, John Lennon, Bonnie Tyler, James Taylor, KISS, Aerosmith, Celine Dion, Meatloaf, Carly Simon, and many more.
